Deaf Hope Summer Workshop

Young Deaf Hope are holding a summer workshop for 11-16yrs & 16-25yrs – each group will have 2 sessions each.
The workshop will be about Human Rights and Deaf Identity – it sounds very heavy but the team have organised the workshop so it is fun and interactive with T-shirt designing and interactive play to appeal from the 11 to 25 year olds.
It is aimed at Deaf young people of whatever communication preferences (as we have interpreters booked for the workshop) and also their siblings.  They will need to be booked under a new booking but we cover for them too.
It will be local at Tooting Hub, Wandsworth and upon booking their places, the Wandsworth Youth Service will send the supporting material for the workshop.

It is booked via Eventbrite with the links being:

The FA Disability Talent Hub

The Disability Talent Hub is the platform where talented deaf children begin their specialised football training (using BSL and English) with the aim of bringing their skills on par with the national elite for their age group. This is designed as a clear pathway for deaf children aged 7 to 11 and 12 to 16 years toward the elite England set-up.

We have trials for new players as follows: Hampton School, Hanworth Road, Hampton, TW12 3HD Sunday 10th December 2017 10.00am – 11.30am (7-11 years) and 12.30pm – 2pm (12-16 years)

Tooting Common Park Run

Are you local to Tooting/Balham? Join the Tooting Common parkrun!
It is a FREE timed 5k run that takes place every Saturday morning at 9am on Tooting Common.

The start of the run is on the path running between the Common café and Dr Johnson Avenue, and a course map is available at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/tootingcommon/course/

To get your result recorded and sent to you, please to register online and bring along a printed copy of your barcode with them on the day. Registration is a very simple process and takes a quick minute or two to do by visiting http://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/.

The run brief at this week’s event will also be BSL interpreted, and we hope to be able to offer this again going forward. Our volunteer roster, available at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/tootingcommon/futureroster/ will indicate when a BSL interpreted brief will be available.
